With Summerslam and the Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler MMA Rules match in the rearview, Rousey may leave the WWE indefinitely. With a mediocre second run this time, Let’s look back on her WWE career.
Ronda Rousey, we hardly knew ye.
The more I think about it, the more I believe Ronda was wasted in WWE. I still think she could have made a bigger splash with a manager like MVP or the obvious choice, Paul Heyman. Someone to talk for her, guide her, and put her over as the baddest woman on the planet. WWE put the onus on a notoriously poor public speaker to get over with fans, and it never worked.
There is a reason people love Brock Lesnar, which has to do with his mystique. He says very little and destroys everything in his path. Ronda, unfortunately, spoke too much and had minimal in-ring experience. If she returns to professional wrestling at some point, I hope she takes the time to get highly proficient in the squared circle. Put the same judo focus into suplexes and hard sells.
